I am excited this year to be partnering with Rachelle McClintock who has coached students through a half million words worth of admissions essays. She knows what works, why it works, and how to get it right. Using her workshop’s 3-phased approach, we’ll help your student generate a truly original idea, excavate it for insight, and expertly craft the details.
This highly focused 1-week experience results in incredibly efficient, high-quality essay work. Along with expert teaching and writing resources from Rachelle, I will be offering my expertise in the form of 1:1 feedback and support for my students in their google doc as they draft through the week.

FAQs about the course
Q: If we sign up, do we get the same time slot each day for 5 days?
The time is flexible, because the student is working at their own pace when they view the pre-recorded lessons. They also choose their appointment times with Kim at their discretion. The first live session with Kim is booked when you register for the course.
Q: It says Day 1 and Day 2 must be completed ahead of time, what does that mean?
The student watches the recorded sessions, completes the brainstorming activity and other assignments prior to our first zoom call. We will discuss this information in detail when we first meet, so it’s best if they put some thought into it beforehand. Technically Day 2 is the actual live session with Kim, but many students opt to write their first rough draft immediately after.
Q: What are Day 1 and Day 2?

Q: How does my student access the Common App questions ahead of time?
The essay prompts for the 2021-2022 Common App can be found here. But don’t spend too much time trying to pick one just yet!
Q: Will these sessions be with just my student one-on-one with you or another coach?
Yes, each student will have 2 one-on-one sessions with Kim, and get individualized feedback and support throughout their week of work via Google docs, text messages, etc.
Q: How long is each one-on-one session that week?

Q: By the end of that week will my student have their essay completed?
Yes! Our main goal for the week is to have your student come out of the course with a polished essay for their college applications.
